Popcorn for the Soul – The art of following through!

“Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task” – William James

william jamesDear Friends,

It is January! Days are getting longer, and we thought we’d ask you how you are getting on?

How are those decisions, and those “I Will …”, “I can ..” and “I decided …” panning out? Are they subtly packed away with unwanted Christmas presents, and almost forgotten? Or are they waiting for another December, for another New Year’s resolution to be recycled?

Has the New Year’s euphoria waned, and are you finding yourself in the New Year, with the old patterns creeping up? Are you slowly slipping into lethargy? Hibernating and waiting for the spring? And while you are hibernating and postponing, notice what is going on within you.

What does postponing feel like?

Is the feeling of you postponing stuff for another time the one of expansion or constriction? Do you have a slight sense of anxiety? A fear perhaps, that the clock is ticking, time is running out. And you are sitting there, lulling yourself, and wrapping yourself with a blanket of inertia.

“I wish I had …”, “I wish I didn’t have …”, “I wish I were …”, “If only …”, those are so not the phrases you want to mutter under your breath during an authentic year, during a year which you should be living, experiencing, exploring and expressing your authentic self! Are you afraid that you will hear yourself thinking any of these phrases during the coming year?

If you have answered yes to any of the abovementioned scenarios, fear not, you are not the only one. You belong to a large group of people, who out of fear of breaking with the old and starting with the new paralyze themselves.

As we said: Fear not – Help is at hand. If you want to take charge of your life, to break free from old patterns of behavior, that no longer serve you. If you want to become an expert in your own life, and the main protagonist in the movie of your life, make a decision NOW to let go of all the habits, of all the “I will start on Monday”-phrases.

For those of you who attended our December workshops. You know what to do. You have the handouts, you have the tools. And we are delighted with the feedback we have received from many of you about your experiences and progress. Keep it going!

For the rest of you, you are welcome to join us. The year is long, we are here for the long haul – we are here for you.

On that note, when you set your New Year’s resolutions, did you have everything you need within yourself, or was there something that was missing? Are your environment and the people you surround yourself with supportive?

Power of support and the Power of self mastery

Let’s face it. We are social beings. When we set a plan, when we make a decision, most of us like to brainstorm it with our near and dear. Most of the things we accomplish, we accomplish together with others.

Very often all that is needed is a bit of careful planning, of believing in your decision, in what you want, and if you need a nudge, if you need support, be sure to find people who share your values, who share your dreams, who are there to really support you, and not to sabotage for you. People who will help you learn how not sabotage for yourself!

Another vital ingredient is self mastery. It is what sets people who accomplish extraordinary things apart from the rest. It is what sets people who live their lives as they want to, apart from the crowd.

With this in mind may we invite you to do the following: write down the feelings you want to eliminate from your life – and the feelings you want to experience. Write down the behaviors you want to eliminate from your life – and the behaviors you want to do instead. Write down who you need to be, who you need to become, in order to live your life as you want it.

And if you want to, you are welcome to join our growing community of dedicated people taking their lives to the next level.

If you have found our Popcorns for the Soul to be useful, we would like to point out that we can only accomplish a small fraction of what we are capable of when we are limited to the media of writing and invite you to imagine how much, much more value you would get from attending our seminars, and all the possibilities that will open up as you do so.

We wish you a wonderful week and send you oceans of love!
